The grueling 864.13-mile race across Baja California’s rugged and awe-inspiring terrain demanded excellence from every competitor. Starting and finishing in Ensenada, racers were challenged by a trivial route woven through high-speed dirt trails and a relentless journey through Baja California’s raw beauty and unforgiving terrain. It pushed racers through sandy washes, rocky canyons, and high-speed trails from sea level to 4,000-foot peaks. Iconic sections like Matomí Wash, Diablo Dry Lake, and the Goat Trail tested endurance, while stunning vistas along the coastline added moments of awe to the grueling adventure. Starting and finishing in Ensenada, the course truly showcased Baja’s untamed spirit.

A total of 282 competitors took the green flag, but only 179 would complete the course. Alumicraft-equipped teams rose to the challenge, proving the platform’s engineering and preparation could outlast the punishing conditions of the world’s most iconic desert race.

Cody Reid, piloting his Alumicraft AWD buggy powered by an all-new Kroyer Racing Engines bullet, delivered a masterful performance, crossing the finish line in Ensenada with a time of just over 19 hours, 32 minutes, and 22 seconds, averaging 44.23 mph. This victory cemented Reid’s dominance in the Class 1 category and secured his third Baja 1000 victory.

“This race is all about perseverance and teamwork,” said Reid at the finish line. “Baja throws everything at you, and to win here, you need every member of your team firing on all cylinders. I can’t thank my crew enough—this was truly a team effort.”

His consistent performance throughout the year solidified his position as the Class 1 points champion for 2024, showcasing the reliability and speed of Alumicraft’s cutting-edge design.

The Class 10 category witnessed an Alumicraft sweep, led by Matias Arjona IV, whose flawless performance earned him the victory with a time of 19 hours, 31 minutes, and 57 seconds, remarkably, just 24 seconds ahead of Reid’s Class 1-winning time.
